About the project
The Energy Intensive Businesses (EIB) project is a pilot project run by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).
Financial assistance is available for businesses that are energy intensive and spend a high percentage of their business costs on energy.
The grants are intended to encourage energy intensive businesses to adopt energy efficient technologies - inspiring others in their industry to get smart about energy use.
The project was established to help the Ministry for the Environment measure the cost effectiveness of various approaches to lowering New Zealand’s greenhouse gas emissions.
