Finding a path to better energy management - ASB

Case studies

You can talk the talk, but what do you actually do to manage energy better?

ASB Bank has found a path that rewarded it with energy savings of nearly $200,000 in 2008, one step towards a targeted $1m annual saving.

This case study looks at how this dynamic organisation has made energy efficiency integral to its business.
ASB has taken a measured approach, following a cycle of ‘plan, do, review and learn'.

An important step has been ‘ring-fencing' a certain sum every year for energy efficiency on top of specific programmes. Seeking external expertise and setting up what was initially a quite simple and basic Monitoring and Targeting programme have also been crucial.
