Storing fuel

After it has been prepared and is ready for use, fuel needs to be stored until it is needed. The storage duration will depend on varying fuel demand and supply. The cost of fuel storage for industrial use is often underestimated.

When looking at fuel storage requirements you may need to consider:

  • Weather protection (especially moisture control)
  • Storage capacity
  • Storage type and suitability for fuel use and type
  • Set up cost
  • Operating costs
  • The land area footprint of the storage facility
  • Infeed/outfeed control and method (for industrial operations)
