Audit grants
Conducting an audit of your business's energy use, resources, design and practices will help you identify energy-saving opportunities.
EECA can help businesses by providing grants for audits.
Who is eligible?
Your business may be eligible for a grant for part of the cost of the following types of audits:
- Energy audit - if your business spends more than $250,000 per year on energy
- Design audit - if your proposed building has a floor area larger than 1000 sq metres
- Fleet audit - if your transport fleet consists of more than 20 heavy vehicles or marine craft
- Scoping study grants - if your business spends more than $1 million in total per year on energy
About the grants
Energy audit grants
Energy audits evaluate how efficiently energy is being used, identify energy and cost-saving opportunities and highlight potential improvements in energy use.
Design audit grants
Design audits determine whether your proposed new premises, processes or technology are as energy efficient as they could be.
Fleet audit grants
Fleet audits demonstrate whether your business resources, such as trucks and cars, are meeting your needs whilst minimising their environmental impact.
Scoping study grants
Scoping study grants are also available to businesses with an annual energy spend of over $1 million. The grant amount is a maximum of 33% of the study costs (up to $5,000).
Preference will be given to those businesses in a priority sector.
To qualify you must:
- Commit to implement the study recommendation(s) for a Level 3 audit, or technology project
- Engage an accredited energy auditor [Energy Management Association website]
- Have a market competitive price and get two quotes if possible
- Provide proof of an active energy management policy or plan.
