Boiler tuning grants
Tuning boilers on a regular basis saves money on your energy bill. On average, every dollar spent on tuning returns up to $30 in energy savings. An EECA boiler tuning grant can help you cover the costs of introducing a boiler tuning schedule.
Many businesses have annual maintenance programmes but research shows boilers should be tuned more often than once a year. Good tuning adjusts the air to fuel ratio in the boiler to get maximum fuel efficiency – it can deliver savings of up to 25% on your energy bill.
EECA helps ensure your boilers are as energy efficient as possible, by providing grants to reduce the cost of introducing a six-monthly boiler tune-up schedule.
What’s on offer?
An EECA boiler tuning grant covers up to 40% of the costs of each six-monthly boiler tune-up, for a two year period. Up to $5,000 is available per year, per site for tuning of boilers with a capacity of 1500 kW or more. The boilers can be solid, liquid or gas fuelled.
You will also receive a report on the savings made and suggestions on how to gain further efficiencies.
What is the benefit?
Tuning boilers every six months saves money on your energy bill. It’s a simple process that takes just a couple of hours and any reduced output while the job is being done is more than compensated for by the energy cost savings that result. Case studies show that, on average, for every dollar spent on tuning, there are up to $30 in energy savings.
Who qualifies?
If you have boilers with 1500 kW in total or more in size, and are prepared to commit to the two-year schedule of six-monthly tunings, you may qualify for the grant.
It doesn’t matter what sector or type of business you are in – manufacturing, food processing, wood processing, hospitality or public facilities like hospitals.
