Air efficiency rating scheme
EECA assists smaller businesses with compressed air systems to identify easy to implement, low-cost efficiency improvements.
Who is eligible?
The Air Efficiency Rating Scheme (AERS) is designed for use with businesses that have a single air compressor.
Why participate?
A properly managed compressed air system not only saves electricity, it also decreases downtime, increases productivity, reduces maintenance, and improves product quality.
Evidence from New Zealand and overseas indicates that electricity savings of 10%-20% can be typically achieved through good compressed air system management practices.
About the scheme
AERS provides a set of tools for skilled compressor service technicians to assess the efficiency of the compressed air system and identify for their clients where efficiency opportunities exists. It also provides an overall efficiency rating of the system.
A number of compressor service companies and individual service technicians have taken the opportunity to offer AERS to their clients. If you have a service contract with one of those companies ask about getting an efficiency rating for your compressed air system.
