Apply for a wood energy grant

To apply for a wood energy grant from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) you must meet certain business requirements and criteria.

Business requirements

Your business must be:

  • Able to co-fund at least 60% of the capital cost of the project, subject to an assessment of the level and nature of risk associated with the project
  • Willing to make information about its project publicly available, including the application and performance of the demonstrated technology, payback period and other relevant data
  • Willing to allow third party monitoring and evaluation of the project
  • Willing to disclose any other government or third party funding, incentives or other forms of assistance.

Criteria

Applications from businesses in all industries will be considered on their ability to influence the development of the wood energy market.

Each application is evaluated against four weighted criteria and ranked against other applications. These are:

  • Consistency with the purpose and principles of the Wood Energy Grant Scheme
  • The features of the project - technical or non-technical
  • Capability to deliver the project
  • Best overall government/private sector interest.

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) reserves the right not to award any grants should the applications not meet the minimum criteria or the funding has already been allocated in earlier rounds.
