In New Zealand, we have a number of standards and ratings for products, appliances and vehicles.
Using standards limits the worst energy performers available for sale in New Zealand. Ratings and labels make it easy for you to understand the energy efficiency of products you're considering investing in for your business.
Manufacturing, importing or selling products
If you are a manufacturer, importer, retailer or any other person selling products, you have a legal obligation to make sure your products comply with the relevant regulations and standards.
EECA provide product standards information for the following:
- Energy efficiency product standards
- Minimum energy performance standards (MEPS)
- Energy rating labels
- ENERGY STAR® endorsement mark
- Vehicle fuel economy labels (VFEL).
