EECA Technology Demonstration Fund – Special Investment Focus
Request for Proposals for Electrification of Marine Passenger Vessels
EECA funding contributes to the cost of demonstrating proven technology or an innovative process improvement opportunity that has yet to be widely adopted in New Zealand. The project should aim to improve energy efficiency and/or reduce carbon emissions.
EECA has approved a special fund for projects to demonstrate the viability of electric passenger ferries in New Zealand. We have set aside a contestable pool of $800,000 (GST exclusive) for your projects.
If accepted, we’ll pay up to 40% of the incremental cost of your project cost, with total EECA funding available per project limited to $200,000.
The request for proposals closes at 9am, Wednesday 31 July 2019.
Please note changes: The Request for Proposal document was updated on the 4th July. Key changes in the new Request for Proposal document are:
- Confirmation that EECA funding is based on the incremental cost of a project and clarification on what constitutes incremental cost.
- List of the members on the assessment panel.
- Request for Proposal [PDF 639KB]
- Response form [DOCX 207KB]
- Proposed Funding Agreement (template) [PDF 299KB]
All proposals received will be assessed for eligibility and then ranked by a Panel on the criteria specified in the RFP document.
